OUR STORY
Established in 1969 by Italian immigrant Carlo Sarti Sr., Carlo's Barbershop has stood as a cherished landmark in Garfield Heights, Ohio. Originally situated on Warner Road in Cleveland, the shop relocated to Turney Road in Garfield Heights, where it held its place in the community from 1969 to 2022. Over the years, the Sarti family flourished, as Carlo Jr., Roberto Gangale, Nick Barile, and Bill Wise joined the skilled cutting crew.
In 2005, the family extended its legacy with the opening of Carlo's Barbershop II, a beloved establishment in Broadview Heights, Ohio. Under the ownership of Roberto Gangale and Carlo Jr., this shop garnered an enthusiastic response from the local community. Witnessing continued success, Carlo's Barbershop further expanded its presence with a second location in Independence, inaugurated in 2012 and currently owned by Nick Barile and Carlo Jr., who purchased it from Nick Nero, the former owner of Nick's Barbershop for over 50 years.
Known for more than just haircuts, Carlo's Barbershop is a hub of vibrant conversation, covering local events, global news, sports, and humor. Welcoming everyone, the shop has earned its reputation as a welcoming and lively space where the community gathers for more than just a trim.

“SENIOR”
The man who started it all 50 years ago, was born in Italy and moved to the USA in 1955. Despite early struggles, he developed a strong work ethic. Now 78 and in fantastic shape, he remains the hardest worker. He is a true machine. At Carlo’s, we've all had the privilege of learning from him; he's a genuine inspiration, imparting valuable life lessons. He's still one of the best when it comes to tapered square backs – a true master barber. Beyond his craft, he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, soccer, and exploring garage sales. He's the original American picker!

Where are Carlo’s Barbershop locations?
We have two shops in Ohio: 8138 Broadview Rd in Broadview Heights, (440) 838-0738, and 6574 Brecksville Rd in Independence, (216) 264-4098.
What are your hours?
Both shops are open Tuesday through Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday. Broadview Heights: Tuesday to Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Independence: Tuesday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
How late can I come in for a haircut?
We aim to take our last customer 15 to 30 minutes before closing. On busy days a shop can be full for the day before the posted closing time. As long as you have a ticket, you are guaranteed a cut.

How long has Carlo’s Barbershop been around?
Since 1969. Italian immigrant Carlo Sarti Sr. started the shop on Warner Road in Cleveland, and it moved to Turney Road in Garfield Heights. The family opened Carlo’s Barbershop II in Broadview Heights in 2005 and the Independence shop in 2012.
Is the Garfield Heights shop still open?
No. The shop on Turney Road in Garfield Heights served the community from 1969 to 2022. Today Carlo’s has two shops, in Broadview Heights and Independence.
Who owns the shops?
Roberto Gangale and Carlo Jr. own the Broadview Heights shop. Nick Barile and Carlo Jr. own the Independence shop, which they bought from Nick Nero, the former owner of Nick’s Barbershop.
